I had a great time on Koh Samui with my family. We went there by boat from week to week with a small group of family. We had a very nice family holiday. We visited the town of Koh Samui with a small boat trip. We took advantage of the beach to sunbathe. We also visited an amusement park with the little one. We had a great time as a family, it was a good week of holiday.

Koh Samui is an island in Thailand. The town is very pretty and the weather is pleasant. There are many activities to do such as diving, fishing and swimming. The town is very clean and safe. There are many restaurants with cuisines from all over the world. The Thai people are very smiling and kind.
Staying in Koh Samui as a family
We spent two weeks in Koh Samui, an island in the south of Thailand. It was very nice, with perfect weather, lots of sun, 28°C water and beautiful beaches. We rented a villa with a swimming pool, a large plot of land and a very large living room. In addition, we had a Thai cook at home to prepare delicious food for us. It was very nice.
We did some sightseeing, but we didn’t have much time. We visited the old town of Surat Thani, a Buddhist temple and another temple, more colourful. We also visited coconut plantations and insect farms. We also went jet skiing, jet packing and wake boarding. It was a lot of fun.
After this beautiful stay, we went back to Bangkok to rest for a week before going back to France.
What to do in Koh Samui as a family
We spent a week in Koh Samui with our family. The climate was rather hot. We chose to stay at The House hotel. This hotel is simply beautiful. The rooms are large and comfortable, the swimming pool is well maintained and located in the middle of the vegetation. The staff are very friendly.
Restaurant
On Koh Samui there are many restaurants, with all kinds of food. You will often find Western restaurants and Asian restaurants.
You can eat pizza, pasta, chicken, sushi, egg rolls, rice, soup, pancakes, vegetables and much more.
The dishes are often very large, so it is advisable to have a small plate to start with, and then have another if you are still hungry.
Beach
On Koh Samui, there are sandy beaches and rocky beaches. There are also beaches that are less popular because they are less beautiful, so you can be quiet there.
Sometimes there are deckchairs on the beach. It is possible to rent them if you leave a deposit (about 100 baht).
There are sometimes street vendors on the beach, or at least on the path leading to the beach. You can find drinks, fruits, small cakes, sun creams, alcohol…
Transport
On Koh Samui, there are cars, scooters, buses and boats.
To get around the centre, you can take a taxi which is a different colour depending on the area of Koh Samui. You can also take a songthaew, which is a pick-up-like taxi on the street. You have to stop it to take a ride.
You can take a scooter or a car. It’s very convenient, especially if you have a driver. That’s what I recommend.
You can also take a boat. This allows you to reach a neighbouring island, or to take a ferry to reach the other side of the island.
Hotel
On the island of Koh Samui, there are many hotels, each one more beautiful than the other.
They are often built on stilts, above the water. They have swimming pools and whirlpools. Some even have a jacuzzi.
The rooms are often very large and luxurious, with a large bathroom, a double bed and often a single bed, a desk…
Koh Samui weather
There can be storms on the island of Koh Samui. It happens rarely, but it can happen.
During a storm, the wind is very strong and can blow down signs or trees, sometimes even sinking roads. It is safer to travel by car.
The sea water can also be very rough. You should not get too close to the rocks, as you risk injury or being swept away by the waves. You should not get too close to boats either, as they can turn over.
