What to do on Koh Samui
Koh Samui is an island, so of course you can go to the beach whenever you feel like it.

Both of these beaches are located on the east coast of the island and are conveniently close to the tourist areas and hotels. But it is also possible to find quieter beaches on the west side of the island, such as Bophut or Bang Po.
You can also visit the Big Buddha temple, whose statue is more than 12 meters high. The entrance is free, but it is possible to make a donation for the maintenance of the temple.
It is also possible to go on excursions on the island. For example, you can go to Angthong National Marine Park, a natural park located 30 minutes by boat from the east coast of the island. It is also possible to take a boat tour of the island to see a sunset.
Finally, you can go and see the penguins at the Samui Crocodile Farm water park. You may be lucky enough to see a crocodile egg hatch!
Where to stay in Koh Samui?
On the sea side, we recommend the northern beaches of Bophut, Maenam, and Choeng Mon. The access to the beach is easier and the beaches are more beautiful. If you are more adventurous, you can go to the southern beaches: Chaweng, Lamai, Taling Ngam, and Laem Sor. Beach access is more difficult, but the beaches are more beautiful
On the land side
Lamai Beach: one of the best beaches on the island. The hotel offer is very important and it is very varied. From guesthouses to luxury hotels, you are bound to find what you are looking for. The beach is relatively busy but still very pleasant, with many restaurants lining the beach which offers very good value for money.
Bang Po Beach: a much quieter beach than Lamai. The hotel offer is much less important than for the beach of Lamai. This makes Bang Po a very good alternative for those who want to relax. The change of scenery is real and there are small typical buildings.
Chaweng Beach: This is the largest beach on the island. It is also the most frequented beach. It has all the facilities necessary for a pleasant stay: restaurants, supermarkets, shops, bars, etc. There is something for every taste and every budget.
Big Buddha Beach: This is a fairly quiet beach but very busy at weekends. There are many restaurants and small souvenir stands. The hotel offer is quite important.
